Terms and Conditions

We make every effort to ensure that the information on the website is accurate and up to date.

All wines are offered subject to availability and remain the property of Corkr Fine Wines Ltd until full payment is received.

Any dispute or claims that arise from using this website must be made and settled under English Law.

We reserve the right to change prices and availability information without notice.

Minimum Order

We are a wholesaler and therefore a minimum order of £300 applies for all orders unless otherwise agreed.

Minimum Age

It is against the law to sell or supply alcohol to anyone under the age of 18 years old in the UK. By placing an order you confirm that you are 18 years old or older.

Delivery Type
Prices are shown either In Bond or Duty Paid:

 In Bond:

(i) Wine can be bought and stored at our HM Customs & Excise Bonded Warehouse, EHD London No.1 Bond Ltd or transferred to another HM Customs & Excise Bonded Warehouse.

(ii) Wine can be bought and delivered to a home address from our HM Customs & Excise Bonded Warehouse, EHD London No.1 Bond Ltd this will incur Duty, Delivery and VAT at the current rate added at the time of purchase.

Duty Paid:

(i) Wine can be bought and stored at our HM Customs & Excise Bonded Warehouse, EHD London No.1 Bond Ltd or transferred to another HM Customs & Excise Bonded Warehouse or delivered to a home address, this will incur Delivery and VAT at the current rate added at the time of purchase.

(ii) Wine to be exported must be collected within 30 days of invoice by the shipper or VAT at the current rate will be required to be paid.

Delivery

We can deliver anywhere in the United Kingdom, Europe and outside Europe.

Deliveries wanted on a specific date may accrue an additional charge. We do not deliver at weekends or on Bank Holidays.

Deliveries to a United Kingdom address are usually within 48 hours, Europe usually within 5 days and Outside Europe usually within 10 days.

United Kingdom Deliveries

(i) Bottles will be undertaken by a courier of our choice and will be packed in polysafe tubes inside a cardboard outer. Costs vary dependent on quantity purchased.

(ii) Cases will be undertaken by EHD London No.1 Bond Ltd.

(iii) The minimum cost for delivery of one case of 12 bottles in the United Kingdom is £21.50 + VAT.

(iv) Insurance cover up to the value of £500 per delivery.

Europe Deliveries

(i) Bottles will be undertaken by a courier of our choice with all necessary export paperwork and will be packed in polysafe tubes inside a cardboard outer. Costs vary dependent on quantity purchased.

(ii) Cases will be undertaken by EHD London No.1 Bond Ltd or a shipper of our choice, with all necessary export paperwork and will be packed in polysafe tubes inside a cardboard outer. Costs vary dependent on quantity purchased.

Outside Europe

(i) Bottles will be undertaken by a courier of our choice with all necessary export paperwork and will be packed in polysafe tubes inside a cardboard outer. Costs vary dependent on quantity purchased.

(ii) Cases will be undertaken by EHD London No.1 Bond Ltd or a shipper of our choice, with all necessary export paperwork and will be packed in polysafe tubes inside a cardboard outer. Costs vary dependent on quantity purchased.

Quality Control

(i) Unless otherwise stated, all wines to arrive in original wooden cases in good condition with fill levels into the neck and labels and capsules clean and intact.

(ii) Photos will be taken on receipt of goods by EHD London No.1 Bond Ltd and if condition (i) does not meet with our satisfaction, we have the right to refuse the wine and ask for a replacement.

(iii) We do not accept wine with US strip labels.

Damages

We will replace all damaged goods delivered either with the same wine or an alternative if out of stock only if the goods have been signed for by the customer. We must have notification within 3 days from delivery.

Condition of wine

If the wine is found to be corked we will happily refund your money for the wine in full or replace it with same or an alternative if out of stock. We must have notification within 3 days from delivery.

Cancellation

If an order is cancelled before being dispatched, monies will be refunded in full. If an order is cancelled after being dispatched, monies will be refunded less delivery charges on return of goods. We must have notification within 3 days from delivery.

Orders

We reserve the right to cancel or reduce any orders, or suspend delivery in the event of being unable to execute them wholly or in part for any other reason, without notice.

Payment

Payment is on Invoice, unless payment terms have been agreed.

We accept payment by:
  • Bank Transfer
  • Debit Card
  • Cheque

We only accept Credit Cards from clients who have a purchasing history.

We will add a 3.5% charge to all Credit Cards payments to cover transaction charges by our Bank.

Payment Default

If the Client fails to make any payment due within the payment terms agreed:

i) We reserve the right to charge interest of 5% per month above the Bank of England base rate on the Total invoice amount and any Bond charges incurred.

ii) We may at our discretion cancel the order and charge a cancellation fee of 20% of the Invoice amount and any additional expenses incurred in the process of cancellation.

iii) We may at our discretion use monies held on account by us on behalf of the client to offset against any monies outstanding.

iv) We reserve the right to sell wines stored on behalf of the client to offset against any monies outstanding.

En Primeur Payment Default

If the Client fails to make any payment due within the payment terms agreed:

i) We reserve the right to charge interest of 5% per month above the Bank of England base rate on the Total invoice amount.

ii) We may at our discretion cancel the order and charge a cancellation fee of 20% of the Invoice amount and any additional expenses incurred in the process of cancellation.

iii) We may at our discretion use monies held on account by us on behalf of the client to offset against any monies outstanding.

iv) We reserve the right to sell wines stored on behalf of the client to offset against any monies outstanding.

Foreign Transactions
We will add a Bank Charge to invoices to cover charges from the Bank for foreign currency instructions:
  • Europe £7
  • Outside Europe including Asia; Hong Kong, China £15
  • All Bank charges incurred when payment is done in a foreign currency will be the responsibility of the buyer.
Client Storage

If you wish to store wine with us, we can provide storage for clients at London City Bond Vinotheque, Burton on Trent. The wine is stored totally separate from ours, we store at EHD London No.1 Bond Ltd, Sunbury.

The benefits:
  • Own account name and account number.
  • Stock list available showing rotation numbers of stock and cost value.
  • Market valuations provided.
  • Stored in perfect conditions for wine.
  • Storage costs less than having your own personal storage account.

Storage charge:

  • Charged per 6 bottle case (4.5 litres) or 12 bottle case (9 litres).
  • Bottles charged at 6 bottle rate.
  • From date of delivery to end of year.
  • In advance at start of New Year for 12 months, no refunds for removing wines before end of year.
  • All storage charges must be paid before wine is removed.
  • If storage charges are unpaid we reserve the right to charge interest of 5% per month above the Bank of England base rate on the Total invoice amount.

Ownership:

  • You own the wines.
  • Insurance at full replacement value. Marine Cargo Insurance provided by Lonham Marine underwriters, trading name of Lonham Group Ltd.
  • You are entitled to collect or organise delivery of your wines by notifying us 48 hours in advance.
  • You agree to all storage charges being paid in full before collection or delivery.
  • You agree to pay all Duty, Delivery and VAT costs before collection or delivery.
Confidentiality

The Client agrees that we may carry out any check as to the clients financial status as we shall deem fit. The Client accepts that we may attempt to verify the Client's identity by checking the details supplied against those held on a number of specific databases that the we have access to, for example information from the Electoral Register and fraud prevention agencies. A record of this may be kept that may be used to help other businesses to verify the Client's identity. We may also pass information to organisations involved in fraud prevention to protect us and other clients from theft and fraud. If the Client supplies false or inaccurate information and we suspect fraud, we will record this and share this information with other organisations.

General

We reserve the right to record telephone conversations between the Client and us, the Client or its representative, if we deem it is necessary to do so. The Client, by accepting these terms and conditions, acknowledges and accepts that evidence of any such recordings may be referred to in respect of any dispute or difference between the parties.

Force Majeure
We shall not be liable for any failure to meet our obligations occasioned by circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
