Chateau Petrus

Chateau Petrus is the most celebrated and expensive wine of Pomerol in Bordeaux. The estate is owned by Jean Francois Moueix and run by his brother Christian Moueix. The history of the estate goes back some 200 years with the Arnaud family owning the estate right up to 1945, when it was sold to Madame Loubat. In 1964 Jean-Pierre Moueix, the father of Jean Francoise and Christian Moueix acquired a share of the property and ran it with Madame Lacoste-Loubat, the niece of Madame Loubat.
In 2003 when Jean-Pierre Moueix died, the control of the property passed to his son Jean Francois.

The vineyards in all total 11.4 hectares producing around 3,500 cases with plantings of 95% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc.
