Chateau Angelus

Since 1909 Chateau Angelus has been owned by the Bouard de LaForest family and has expanded due to the acquisition of Clos de L'Angelus in 1926 plus a plot in 1969 from Chateau Beau-Sejour Becot. Hubert de Bouard joined the family concern in 1976 and the estate is presently managed by him. A fair amount of modernising changes have happened including the practice of maturing in new oak that began in 1980. The estate is made up of 23.4 hectares with a grape variety consisting of 51% Merlot, 47% Cabernet Franc and 2% Cabernet Sauvignon. The average annual production is 10,000 cases of the Grand Vin and 1,000 cases of the second wine. In 2012 the Chateau was promoted to First Growths (Premieres Crus) Classes 'A'.
