The 2016 Le Pavillon de Léoville-Poyferré has gained quite a bit of finesse during the course of its aging. Mid-weight, pliant and silky, the 2016 is gorgeous today. Ripe red/purplish berry and floral notes are beautifully layered. Above all else, the 2016 exudes balance and class.
- Antonio Galloni 92 Points
The 2016 Pavillon de Poyferré lacks some vim and vigor on a nose of light, airy red berry fruit and a touch of rose petal that needs more attack. The palate is medium-bodied with light tannins, slightly oaky red berry fruit and a mocha-tinged finish. Tasted blind at the Southwold tasting.
