Chateau Leoville Barton has been owned by the Barton Family since 1836 and was once part of the Leoville estate that incorporated Chateau Leoville Lascases and Chateau Leoville Poyferre. The present owner Anthony Barton took control in 1986. There is no actual Chateau, but the vineyard can be found behind the town of St Julien. The wine is made at Chateau Langoa Barton. The Vineyard totals 47 hectares producing around 20,000 cases and is planted with 72% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot and 8% Cabernet Franc. Two wines are produced: Chateau Leoville Barton a second growth Bordeaux, known as a super second and Reserve de Leoville Barton, the second wine. The best vintages have been in: 1945, 1948, 1949, 1953, 1959, 1961, 1982, 1990, 1996, 2000, 2003, 2005, 2009 and 2010.
